The mask policy requiring all students and staff to wear masks/face coverings inside school buildings during the school day and afterschool activities when six feet social distancing cannot be met and maintained has been extended through the end of the day on Monday, October 4, 2021.

Masks will continue to be required by students and staff on school buses. Masks will not be required for outside activities such as PE, athletics, band, or during recess. Masks will be required for indoor athletic events by all spectators and athletes when not actively participating in the contest. Masks will not be required for outdoor athletic events.

The Superintendent and staff will continue to monitor school data and make recommendations to the Blount County Board of Education in hopes that conditions improve and the mask requirement can become optional again in the near future.
