The Blount County Education Foundation's main project is the Classroom Grant Program!  Each year certified personnel may submit a grant application.  The applications are then judged, with the judges not aware of the name of the applicant or the school.  The winners are annouced and grants are awarded!  Grant Awards Announcement Day for 2012-2013 was Thursday, December 6, 2012, 7:30 a.m. on WCRL, 1570 AM/95.3 FM.  Congratulations to the Classroom Grant Winners, which totaled $98,975, the highest total ever awarded!  Scroll down to see the list or print a copy by clicking to the right under "Related Documents."

 

The Blount County Education Foundation is pleased to announce the awarding of the following grants for 2012-2013. Grants are awarded to 128 projects in the amount of $98,975. Since 1998, the Education Foundation has awarded ­­­­1,251 classroom grants, plus an extra $16,870 in 2009 in awards for each classroom teacher in the system. The cumulative grants grand total is now $903,709!!!!

There were a total of 182 elementary applications, 103 secondary applications, and 9 “all grades” applications submitted. A total of 128 grants were funded.
